this lady is named "orlan" (sp?) and she gets plastic surgery to look like famous paintings. weird! better pic of her over at zipland. we saw her at the deitch "live statement" thing.
everything gets better when dietz gets 3 inches from your camera. this was seconds after he grabs my bandana and goes off on "you're SOOOOO sexerz." dirty dietz. this was at the david choe/vice thing. basically a room full of pictures he made out of pens and blood and urine which are mostly porn. not exactly a feminist funland, but pretty skillful drawing all in all. and he was in solitary confinement and all. boy's resourceful.
Getting Reel:
Contemporary Pro-Choice Documentaries
Planned Parenthood of New York City and The Culture Project are proud to present four powerful films about speaking out and fighting for reproductive rights. Bring your friends, family and colleagues to get inspired by what activists are doing across the country. Each film will be followed by a discussion, where you'll have an opportunity to meet other activists and talk about issues like real sex education, women's stories of abortion and violence against women. Take a break for a brown-bag lunch screening or catch a show in the evening!
